New house dean, more Fulbrights


square.gifPatricia Williams has been named the new House Dean of W.E.B. DuBois College House. Williams, a native New Yorker, is a poet and writer with many years of experience in student services and administration at Fordham and Yeshiva universities.

More Fulbright scholars

Four more Penn students have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships for study abroad since the end of the school year, bringing the total number of Fulbrights from Penn to 16 (Current, May 31 and May 3).

Undergraduate awards were given to:

square.gifStephen Lee (C/EAS'01), an economics major/computer science and Asian and Middle Eastern studies minor, who will study in Egypt, and

square.gifWhitney Miller (C'01), an Asian and Middle Eastern studies major, who will study in Japan.

The following graduate students also received Fulbrights:

square.gifBert Scruggs, a graduate student in Asian and Middle Eastern studies, who will study in Taiwan and Japan, and

square.gifAmanda Jones, a graduate student in history of art, who will study in France.
