To help illustrate her points about teaching college students, Ellen Braffman, a member of the teacher education faculty at the Graduate School of Education, enlisted the services of “Peter Penn” (right), a “student” and basketball jock, at a workshop she led for current and prospective teachers on “Reading and Writing Strategies for the Classroom: Assessment in Practice” Jan. 18.
