Wharton cooks

Its been a long day at the office, but youre hungry as a horse, and you dont feel like spending a lot of time cooking. What do you do? Judging from the responses we got from Wharton School staff and faculty, the answer depends a lot on your gender.

LAURIE LUNDQUIST
Finance and Administration

I cook a lot on weekends. Ill cook additional quantities at the same time like rosemary omelets which is for six meals, lasagna and a big turkey breast, and I divide it up and freeze it. I make a lot of soup, too.

PATRICIA BLACK
Financial Analyst

Normally, it is going to be leftovers or something quick to cook like a chicken and rice dish. I use [Purdue] Chicken Shortcuts. I have a 12-year-old, so its pizza, cheesesteaks or KFC when we get takeout.

BETH ZIMMERMAN
Wharton Reprographics

I have parents that cook.

JOANNE SPIGONARDO
Office of Communications

It usually takes a total of 20 minutes for me to cook. It is necessary to go shopping and buy ingredients because if you dont have them on hand, you have to call for take out like pizza. An easy recipe is stir frying broccoli and drained tuna fish with good olive oil, and mixing it with some pasta and fresh pepper. Its so awesome!

JENNIFER DUNN
Operations & Info Management (OPIM)

I grab a box of cereal and pour it in a bowl, without milk. And then I grab a Diet Coke.

RACHEL CROSON
OPIM

I let my husband do it. Mostly we make pasta with various sauces and vegetable stir-frys.

PATRICK McNULTY
Risk Management Center

My wife takes care of it. I dont care what it is.

PETER SCHMEIDLER
Risk Management Center

I go home and hope my wife has something on the table for me. I like a nice home cooked meal rather than a box coming out of the freezer.

JEANNINE WALKER
Course Coordinator

Well, usually I dont cook. I prefer take out like Taco Bell, where I get chicken quesadillas. Theyre cheap and satisfying.

TREVOR LEWIS
Finance and Administration

I hope that my wifes done it. I plan to go somewhere if she hasnt, like to Pizzeria Uno; not upscale.

SCOTT DOUGLAS
Finance and Administration

I go get takeout. I eat out at one of two little restaurants, Cafe Verde and Palace, down in Wilmington, where I live. I will also eat cereal.
