Seeds of better health grow in U-City

Mei Elansary

Mei Elansary (C’04) was so excited by her research on community health promotion in University City that she put off study in France for a year to pursue it. That research, conducted under the auspices of the Urban Nutrition Initiative, led to a new course in which undergraduates will help create a new community health information center at University City High School. For her efforts, Elansary was honored this year with Campus Compact’s Howard R. Swearer Humanitarian Award, which recognizes outstanding student public service achievements.
