Academic all-stars

Samara Barend (C'99), left, and Eugene Huang (W/EAS '99) were named to the USA Today All-USA College Academic Team on Feb. 25. USA Today picked Barend for the First Team, citing her activities while an intern for Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) and involvement with West Philadelphia revitalization efforts. Huang was named to the Third Team, mainly for his work on a software-based television remote control that led to the founding of the company Navispace (see "Student Spotlight," Current, Nov. 12, 1998).
