Kathy Schultz

Graduate School of Education

This summer, Dr. Schultz led a team of educators to Banda Aceh, Indonesia, where they trained master teachers who in turn could train the thousands of teachers needed to replace those killed by the tsunami.

"Hurricane Katrina offers New Orleans and the rest of us an opportunity to rethink, redesign and rebuild not only its physical structures but also the pedagogy of its public schools," Dr. Schultz says.  "The opportunity to thoughtfully reconsider teaching and learning for all children is crucial to the city ability to re-imagine its future."
