M. Grace Calhoun has been named director of recreation and intercollegiate athletics at the University of Pennsylvania, effective July 1. The announcement was made today by Provost Vincent Price, who chaired the search committee.
University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann and Provost Vincent Price today announced that Director of Athletics Steve Bilsky will retire on June 30. He has made an indelible impact on the University across an extraordinary six decades, since his student days as a captain of a historic men's basketball team through his nearly 20 years of distinguished leadership of Penn Athletics.
Looking to accomplish the unprecedented, the University of Pennsylvania football team was picked as the preseason favorite to win the Ivy League title on Tuesday at the annual Ivy League Football Media Day teleconference.
PHILADELPHIA – The funding is completed, and the work is very nearly done. The Chuck Bednarik statue will soon be a reality. The University of Pennsylvania has announced the formal dedication of the Bednarik statue on Saturday, Nov. 19, prior to the Quakers’ football game against Cornell that kicks off at 1 p.m. The statue will be located inside Gate 2 on the North side of Franklin Field, and will be complemented by a collage honoring the historical significance of the Philadelphia Eagles during their time playing at Franklin Field.
PHILADELPHIA -- Scotty Williams, a student at the University of Pennsylvania, has been named Golfer of the Year in the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Stars annual selection. In addition, nine other Penn student-athletes were named to All-Area teams.  They were selected by a vote of the members of the Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association.Williams was joined on the All-Area Men’s Golf team by fellow Penn student Chance Pipitone.
For the second straight summer, the twin duo of Elizabeth Donald and Rebecca Donald has made its mark on the national scene in women's rowing.
PHILADELPHIA - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 48 Division I All-America selections, and Penn is represented by three players.
