The University has accepted a recommendation from its Committee on Manufacturer Responsibility to require all licensees that sourced, produced or purchased collegiate apparel in Bangladesh to become signatories of The Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh and abide by its requirements as soon as possible.

LARGEST SINGLE NAMING GIFT TO A SCHOOL OF MEDICINE IN U.S. HISTORY
PHILADELPHIA – Gregory S. Rost, vice president and chief of staff to University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann, has been appointed to the five-member board of the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority, PICA, according to an announcement today by Pennsylvania House Democratic Leader Frank Dermody.
PHILADELPHIA -- The National Research Council has released its long-awaited assessment of the nation’s research doctoral programs.  The assessment, using data collected from the 2005-06 academic year, covers 4,838 programs in 62 fields at 212 universities.
BEIJING -- The University of Pennsylvania and Tsinghua University today announced an agreement to expand and enhance their ongoing academic and research collaborations, including developing a conference on undergraduate education to discuss best practices and skills development and identifying a major research collaboration spearheaded by Penn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.
 SHANGHAI –- The University of Pennsylvania and Shanghai Jiao Tong University today announced an agreement to expand and enhance their ongoing academic and research collaborations, including identifying student and faculty exchanges, development of plans for research collaboration in regenerative medicine, formation of a joint Center of Excellence in Medical Imaging and exploring a jointly sponsored conference on International Financial Market Regulation.
