·      A nationally recognized expert in violence prevention, she has published widely in the areas of homicide, suicide, sexual assault, battering and firearms.  A primary focus for her work is the social context in which violence occurs, specifically the norms that shape if and how violence is tolerated.



Grief/Loss and Professional Compassion Fatigue Expert

·      As a clinical social worker, Ms. Krawchuk can discuss professional fatigue as well as coping with grief and loss.  She can explain what professional compassion fatigue is and how first responders, teachers and others may need special attention after tragedies. She can also discuss the grief process itself and how people can use healthy coping mechanisms to work toward healing during each step of the grief process.  

·      She works in private practice specializing in caregiving, chronic and life-threatening illness, grief, loss, professional compassion fatigue and stress management.


Child Trauma Stress Expert:           
Dr. Johnana Greeson

·      Dr. Greeson can explain child traumatic stress and what it is; tips for parents and teachers to be able to help children cope with stress, grief and loss; post-traumatic stress disorder in children; and youth resiliency, the ability of young people to heal after experiencing trauma.

·      She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress at Duke University Medical Center.

         ·      One of the nation’s leading authorities on effective parenting, Dr. Stevenson can   discuss how parents can talk to children about tragedies like the one that took place in Sandy Hook Elementary School.
