President Amy Gutmann recently discussed one of the principles of the Penn Compact - the importance of local engagement - with Penn Civic Scholars, who commit to a four-year experience in civic service and scholarship with close faculty mentorship that achieves certification as a Penn Civic Scholar at graduation.
