Lee Hamilton to Speak at University of Pennsylvania on U.S. Role in the World After Afghanistan and Iraq

For more than 40 years, Hamilton has been an important voice on international relations and American national security. He currently co-chairs the U.S. Energy Department’s Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future.

Previously, he was president of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington. He served Indiana as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1965 to 1999, where his chairmanships included the Committee on Foreign Affairs. In his post-Congressional career Hamilton was the vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission.

His talk, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by Penn’s Fels Institute of Government and the Christopher H. Browne Center for International Politics.
