Golden Day for the Golden State?

California state leaders gave their voters a simple but politically perilous proposition: If you want to continue to have a public higher education structure that many consider thebest in the world, then you have to vote to pay for it. And, by and large, voters did, casting votes that many in the state say reflect a desire to fundamentally reform the state’s revenues and expenditures to bring in new money and reinvest in the state’s higher education institutions after several years of deep cuts, as well as further cuts to K-12 education and public safety.
