Last chance to join the locker lottery at the Pottruck Center Tomorrow (July 23) is the deadline for Penn Recreation members to renew their Pottruck or Hutchinson Gym locker rentals for the 2010-2011 academic year, or to enter the lottery to rent a locker. To participate in the lottery, members must visit the Pottruck Center in person, fill out a form and provide a VISA or MasterCard number.
To help cancer patients better cope with the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation and other treatments, and to help cancer survivors bounce back faster, the Abramson Cancer Center is offering acupuncture as a supplement to conventional medical care.
"Neurons and Nature," the artwork of Greg Dunn, a fourth-year graduate student in neuroscience at Penn Medicine, is on display at the Burrison Gallery in the University Club at Penn through Aug. 6. Dunn's paintings are inspired by his study of neurons - the cells that make up the brain - his admiration of Asian art and his love of nature.
Animals face an increased exposure to heat, trauma, poisons and infectious diseases during the summer months, says Kenneth J. Drobatz, director of Emergency Services at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital. But with a little common sense pet owners can make sure their furry family members stay cool, calm and healthy.
