Veterans Day program honors Penn's servicemen and women
Veterans DayOn Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, Penn will present "Voices of Veterans at Penn: In Their Own Voice--Veterans Tell Their Story." Coordinated by the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs and Veterans Upward Bound, the program will be devoted to stories about members of the Penn family who fought in America's 20th and 21st century wars.

Alumni share memories with Penn Back Then
Penn Back Then
Every Penn grad has a favorite "back in the day" story. Whether it's about fun times at New Student Orientation or a memory of a beloved professor, everyone has a tale to tell. Since 2005, the School of Arts and Sciences has been collecting these memories through Penn Back Then, a continuing online oral history project.

Shoemaker Green: A verdant gateway between east and west

The demolition of the old tennis courts that lie between the iconic Palestra and the new Weiss Pavilion is scheduled to begin next summer, making way for Shoemaker Green, a 3.75-acre park gateway between Locust Walk in the main part of campus and the new Penn Park at the eastern edge of campus.

Feel Good Fridays
After a long and arduous workweek, it's nice to have a place to relax, de-stress and unwind. The Penn Women's Center offers a place to do just that one day each month at its Feel Good Friday sessions, which are devoted to physical and emotional health. The events are open to men and women, students, faculty and staff.

GSE prof technology education plan
Penn Graduate School of Education professor and learning scientist Yasmin Kafai is one of 15 scholars and K-12 practitioners who collaborated to draft the National Education Technology Plan. The plan will be unveiled on Nov. 9 at the State Educational Technology Directors Association Education Forum in Prince George's County, Md.
