The University of Pennsylvania is partnering with Princeton University, Stanford University, and the University of Michigan as part of an online education platform called Coursera, designed to make web-based courses available for free and improve teaching on campuses. Read more...      

Relay

On Thursday, April 26, thousands of finely tuned athletes clad in colorful warm-ups will descend upon Penn's campus for the 118th Penn Relay Carnival. The Relays run from April 26-28 at Franklin Field, and the University community is invited to attend. Read more...

5K Walk
Penn Walking Program hosts 5K walk on April 27
Faculty and staff are invited to participate in the Penn Walking Program's Fifth 5K Walk on Friday, April 27. Walkers will meet at noon at the Benjamin Franklin statue in front of College Hall. The 3.1-mile course takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the pace. Read more...

On Thursday, April 19, the Division of Public Safety is recognizing nearly 50 honorees at its biannual Commendation Ceremony. Penn's law enforcement and public safety professionals will be applauded, as well as members of the Penn community. Read more...

Penn welcomes John Barth as KWH Fellow   
American postmodern novelist John Barth will visit Penn from April 23-24. As one of the 2012 Kelly Writers House Fellows, he will participate in an evening reading and informal teaching sessions with young writers, aspiring writers, and writer-critics. Read more...
