Penn President Martin Meyerson’s impact on campus is still being felt more than 30 years after his presidency.
Meyerson led the University at a time when Penn was going through many major changes, including dealing with a huge budget deficit, making upgrades to the campus grounds and modifying academic programs to complete his goal of creating “One University.”
PHILADELPHIA – Marion Weiss, professor of architecture in the University of Pennsylvania School of Design, has been selected as a 2012 fellow by the American Institute of Architecture. The Fellowship honors architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession.

James Corner of the School of Design and his firm will design new public spaces for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
James Corner Field Operations (JCFO), the New York-based contemporary design practice led by the University of Pennsylvania's School of Design's James Corner, MLA'86, Professor and Chairman of Landscape Architecture, has won the commission to design the new public spaces in London Olympic Park South.
This will be one of the first new public spaces and facilities added to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, which will host events following the 2012 Games.
