Karen Glanz Is Appointed Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor at University of Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA -- Karen Glanz, a globally influential public-health scholar, has been named the ninth Penn Integrates Knowledge University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

The appointment was announced today by Penn President Amy Gutmann and Interim Provost Vincent Price.

Living Independently for Elders Celebrates 10 Years of Caring for Seniors in West Philadelphia With Block Party

PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing’s Living Independently for Elders program will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a neighborhood party on Saturday, May 16. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4508 Chestnut St.

Since 1998, LIFE has provided all-inclusive health care to more than 650 Southwest and West Philadelphia seniors.

Living Independently For Elders to Honor Its Founders

PHILADELPHIA — The Living Independently For Elders program of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing will honor its four founders at a wine and cheese reception on Monday, May 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the LIFE center, 4508 Chestnut St.

LIFE allows low-income seniors who would otherwise need nursing-home care the option to remain in their homes and receive all preventative, primary, acute and long-term health services at the LIFE center.
