Dr. Amy Gutmann, Penn President, met with Class of 2012 students as part of New Student Orientation for a Proseminar discussion entitled: Increasing Access. Integrating Knowledge. Engaging Locally & Globally. What does it all mean?
In her 2004 inaugural address, President Gutmann launched the Penn Compact, her strategic vision to propel Penn from "excellence to eminence." Over the last four years, the Compact's vision has thrust Penn forward in increasing access for the most talented students, regardless of socioeconomic background, recruiting and retaining exceptional faculty who integrate knowledge across multiple disciplines, and making Penn a powerful transformational force throughout the Philadelphia region and around the globe.
