Global Education
Penn provides unparalleled opportunities to engage in the study of global issues, languages, and cultures. We offer a wide range of centers, institutes, and area studies programs, as well as courses in dozens of languages (including extensive English Language Programs for international students), in globalization studies, and in the full range of international culture, history, development, health, business, and engineering.
International Admissions
With the largest number of international students in the Ivy League, Penn offers diverse opportunities and experiences for undergraduate applicants, prospective graduate students, and international students and professionals from more than 100 countries and with a wide range of professional and personal interests.
International Student and Scholar Services
The Office of International Student and Scholar Services provides advice, information, and referrals for Penn’s international community, in such areas as immigration laws and regulations, living in Philadelphia, and adjustment to American society and culture.
Penn World Scholars
The Penn World Scholars Program brings outstanding international undergraduates to Penn, from a wide range of countries and backgrounds. They are selected based on outstanding potential for lives of leadership and service, as well as academic achievement and financial need, and they receive financial support support throughout their time at Penn, consistent with the most generous awards available to undergraduates.
Distinguished International Scholars
This innovative cross-School program brings world-renowned professors, writers, researchers, and activists to Penn in intensive visits, lasting at least two weeks, that are directly coordinated with ongoing undergraduate courses and include a variety of public and small group events.
Penn Museum
Penn’s world-leading Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology extends into every corner of the world, through a diverse range of exhibitions, speaker series, educational programs, and significant research projects around the world.
Writers Without Borders
The Provost’s International Writers Series, held at Kelly Writers House, invites major writers and activists from around the world, with a special focus on writers with a history of social activism, from less studied countries, or less known in North America.
