In partnership with the Office of the Provost, the Penn Institute for Urban Research (Penn IUR) is hosting “Rebuilding Urban Places after Disaster: Lessons from Hurricane Katrina.” This event builds on University of Pennsylvania’s December 1st symposium, “Risk and Disaster: Lessons from Hurricane Katrina.” The purpose of the Rebuilding symposium is to bring together national experts to address issues of rebuilding cities and their environs after a disaster. The event will take place at the University of Pennsylvania with an opening session on Thursday, February 2, 2006 and a series of panel discussions on Friday, February 3, 2006. http://www.upenn.edu/penniur/rebuilding for online registration and agenda.
