David Pottruck Health & Fitness Center
Location: 3701 Walnut Street
The David Pottruck Health and Fitness Center has 4 floors of state-of-the art cardiovascular equipment, the 2nd floor weight room, an Olympic-size pool and co-ed sauna, basketball courts, climbing wall, golf simulator, Energy Zone juice bar, group exercise studios, a fully-equipped Pilates studio, locker and shower facilities, and the Campus Recreation Membership Services Office.
Robert A. Fox Fitness Center
Location: 219 South 33rd Street – 215-898-6100
The Robert A. Fox Fitness Center in Weiss Pavilion at Franklin Field adds an additional 8,000 square feet of indoor recreational space to the University of Pennsylvania campus. The facility features cardio and strength equipment along with programming including group circuit training workouts.
The Sheerr Pool
Location: 3701 Walnut Street (must be a member of Pottruck Health & Fitness Center)
Built in 1967, this facility has the capacity to be either 2 short-course pools (25 meters and 25 yards, 12 lanes) or 1 long course pool (50 meters, 6 lanes) and is home to a large recreational population as well as the University’s various club and varsity teams. The Sheerr Pool is equipped with a stair entrance at the shallow end, a handicap accessible chair, and an on-deck dry sauna and shower both of which are located at the deep end.
Ringe Squash Courts
Location: 219 South 33rd Street – 215-573-0059
The Penn men’s and women’s squash programs have been calling the Ringe Squash Courts home since 1958. In 1998-99, Ringe was reconstructed to house 10 glassback international squash courts, the Al Molloy Exhibition Court and the Intercollegiate and Penn Squash Halls of Fame. Penn has been a consistent host of major national championships on the junior, collegiate and open levels
Location: 31st Street between Walnut and South Streets
Penn Park is located on the eastern end of campus, off 31st Street and Chestnut / Walnut / Spruce Streets. Penn Park fields 1 & 2 (turf fields) are also open to the Penn community for open recreation Monday – Thursday 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Franklin Field Track
Located along 33rd Street
Located along 33rd street on the University of Pennsylvania campus is one of the most historic stadiums in the nation, Franklin Field. Opened in 1895 (for a mere $100,000) for the first edition of the Penn Relays, Franklin Field was expanded twice, in 1922 and 1925, and now seats 52,593. For more information on the Franklin Field Track visit www.pennathletics.com. Open Recreation for walking and jogging on the track is available Monday through Friday from 11am to 2 pm. Hecht & Hamlin Tennis Centers
Location: Inside Penn Park (31st Street between Walnut & South Streets)
The Hecht Tennis Center has eight indoor tennis courts and is open daily. The facilities are made up of eight glare-free Devoe illuminated courts with well paced Plexi Pave surfaces and seasonal air conditioning. There is a spacious observation deck that overlooks the front four courts. The Hecht Tennis Center is ideal for parties. Showers and lockers available. Each player must provide their own lock and towel.
The Hamlin Tennis Center has 12 all weather courts in a beautiful park setting with views of the Philadelphia skyline. The facility has stadium seating for several hundred and is open daily. There are no restroom/shower facilities onsite, use Hecht Tennis Center. Must check-in at Hecht Tennis Center and receive a ticket prior to playing on the courts
