Yoga

Our Yoga studio offers courses that appeal to all experience levels. Our nationally certified instructors provide a supportive, safe, and engaging atmosphere for all participants. All Yoga classes are held in Studio 414. Take a virtual tour of Studio 414. Drop-In passes are available for $10 to PennRec Members only.

      • Power Flow Yoga

        A challenging blend of flexibility, strength, and endurance for those who like to sweat. Yoga Experience recommended. Classes held in Studio 414, Pottruck Center. Non-Recreation Members must have a Penn Card to register. Visit our eConnect Portal to view available class times and register.

      • Yoga for All (Beginner Yoga)

        Always wanted to try yoga but wasn’t sure it was for you? Tried it a long time ago and want to get back into it? This is a beginner class that will introduce you to the basic foundations of any yoga practice, incorporating breathing, stretching and postures that foster strength and flexibility. Visit our eConnect portal to view available class times and register.

      • Relax and Restore Classes

        These classes are designed to help students to rejuvenate and relieve stress. Students learn to use breath and proper alignment to relax the muscles and refresh the spirit. Participants leave class with a sense of mental serenity and physical well-being. Come breathe, move, and meditate your stress away. All levels are welcome.       • Vinyasa Flow Yoga

        Using Sun Salutations as the framework, each class offers a sequence of movements and postures connected with inhales and exhales, building on one another to expand the student’s base of knowledge about the overall practice of yoga. The result is an active, moving meditation that improves strength, balance, and coordination. Beginners and intermediate students alike are welcome! Classes held in Studio 414, Pottruck Center.       • Hatha Yoga

        This class is a gentle, unique blend of asana styles, static and flowing sequencing, with emphasis placed on breath. You will build strength and flexibility.       • Yoga Flow

        In this Yoga series, you will be introduced to TriYoga which incorporates flowing movements that combine meditation in motion, relaxation in action, and rhythmic breathing as a means to develop strength, flexibility, mental focus, and inner peace.   • Anita Gelburd


    Certified Yoga instructor since 2006, Anita enjoys opening up students to benefits and the enjoyments of yoga. You can find Anita teaching Vinyasa yoga, a moderately paced flowing practice that includes plenty of strength building postures and breathe work. However, when she’s not teaching yoga, Anita takes pleasure in reading novels, learning about history, traveling, and singing in a barbershop quartet!
