Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles that help to keep the body balanced, and are essential to providing support for the spine and core. Our instructors are experienced and comprehensively certified through nationally recognized organizations such as Power Pilates. Click here to take a virtual tour of the Pilates Studio. Pre-registration is required for all Pilates Courses. Visit our eConnect Portal to view available class times and register. Drop-in passes are not available at this time. Early registration is recommended as space is limited. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

  • Pilates Classes

    Mixed Mat

    Mixed Mat classes are designed for beginner to advanced levels. Emphasis will be on the precision and flow of the Pilates mat exercises, challenging each level.

    Intro to Equipment

    Intro to Equipment classes are designed to introduce you to the apparatus used in Classical Pilates training such as the reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle. These tools will challenge the body through resistance training while maintaining strong core muscles. New Intro to Equipment classes begin every month.

    Tower Pilates 

    A Tower course is a combination of wall unit exercises and mat work in a small group setting. Using th wall unit, you will stretch your muscles while strengthening and toning your arms, legs, back, glutes, and abs. Challenge your core, strength, stability and balance. Previous Pilates equipment experience is recommended.

    Reformer Circuit

    This small group equipment class is designed for no more than four people. Utilizing a combination of exercises on the Pilates apparatus, you can see and feel the benefits. Previous Pilates equipment experience is recommended.

  • Private Lessons

    For those interested in further pursuing their Pilates study, we offer private and semi-private Pilates sessions with some of our certified Pilates instructors. A private session is one student with one instructor. A semi-private is two students with one instructor, and both people must book together. Both private and semi-private sessions are 55 minutes in length.

    To book private Pilates sessions please visit the Membership Services Office. Registration cannot be performed online or over the phone.

    First time Pilates clients must complete a registration packet. To download the packet, please visit the Forms Directory page. Once complete, please stop by Membership Services to submit your packet and provide payment. If you cannot make it during office hours, please contact us.

  • Megan Gilmartin

    Megan is a certified Pilates instructor through Power Pilates, NYC. She has been with PennRec since May of 2008 and loves helping people reach their fitness, weight loss, and/or personal goals. Some of her own fitness goals are to maintain a healthy weight and a flexible body well into her old age. Other activities she likes to enjoy are biking, photography, reading, and travelling.
