Climbing
The Goal of the Penn Climbing Club is to provide a vehicle for enthusiastic climbers at Penn to train and compete in the Northeast. The Penn Climbing Club recognizes how lucky we are to have stuch a phenomenal climbing facility at Pottruck. However, the world of competitive climbing has much to offer outside of the confines of University City and the Penn Climbing Club hopes to bridge that gap. The Penn Climbing Club meets once a week for formal practices, but most members can be found at the wall three, four or even five times per week. Climbers of all skill levels and experiences and welcome to join to the club. All we ask is that you have enthusiasm for the sport and a passion for rock climbing.

The Penn Climbing Club competed in the first annual 'College Crank' hosted by the Philadelphia Rock Gym. Teams from Villanova, Drexel, St. Joes and Temple were present. The competition was stiff, but Penn came in first place! As proof of our big win we got plaque which is currently hung in the Outdoor Office near the climbing wall. We plan on defending our crown at the next college crank, which will be held this spring.
