Graduation and Program End

Most academic programs end with graduation or program end. When a new APS entry is established for a student, the normal exit action will be an expected graduation or program end (for non-degree-granting programs).

When establishing a new APS entry for a student, use an exit action of EG (expected graduation) or EP (end of program).

The EXPECTED GRAD TERM field on Screen 110 automatically reflects the exit term that is associated with an exit action of EG (expected graduation).

Example:

If a student goes on a leave of absence, when you change the exit
action to LV (leave of absence), the EXPECTED GRAD TERM field remains
the same. When the student returns from leave and you open a new
APS entry, the EXPECTED GRAD TERM will reflect the NEW term
associated with the new exit action of EG.

Exit actions of GD (graduation) cannot be entered on Screen 110. They are placed in the APS entry automatically as part of the graduation process. See "Graduation" for graduation procedures.

The date of graduation is also placed in the APS entry automatically as part of the graduation process.

Exit actions of EP (end of program) are used for academic programs that are not degree-granting.

The ending date should be the official ending date of the program.

Expected Graduation, graduation and end of program are the only exit actions that do not require exit reasons.
