You matriculate a student by opening an APS entry in SRS. You must open an APS entry:

- to admit a student into a program

- to admit a student as a submatriculant

- to readmit a student

- to reinstate a student

- to return a student from a leave of absence

- to transfer a student into a program

You must enter at least the following on Screen 110 to open an APS entry in SRS:

- an approved academic program, consisting of a valid division, degree, and major

- an entry term and action

- an exit term and action

When you enter an approved academic program, the system will display certain default values associated with that program from Screen 134, Approved Academic Programs. They are: classification, level, school and career.

A student's career and classification may be changed manually. His/her level and school cannot be changed manually.

To open an academic program:

-

Establish the context by entering the SID on Screen 110.

-

Does the student already have APS entries displayed?

- If yes:

Press Enter until the SEQ number of the first blank line on the

left side of the screen is highlighted and the fields on the right

side of the screen are blank.

- If no:

- Tab to the DIV field and type the appropriate division code, or

use the PF2 on-line help key.

- Tab to the DEG field and type the appropriate degree code or use

PF2 on-line help key.

- Tab to the MAJ field and type the appropriate major code, or use

the PF2 on-line help key.

NOTE: Be sure that DIV, DEG, and MAJ compose an Approved Academic Program from Screen 134.

To assert a specific student classification:

-

Tab to the PREV SCHL field and type the valid institution code.

-

Tab to the ENTRY field and type the 3-character term code for the first term that the student will be active. Type the appropriate entry ACTION code on the blank line or use PF2 on-line help key.

-

Tab to EXIT and type the 3-character term code for the term in which the student is expected to graduate. Type an exit ACTION code of EG (expected graduation) on the blank line.

-

Press Enter.
