Overview

Advance Registration is a process whereby the student course requests for the upcoming Fall or Spring term are collected over a period of time for subsequent processing as a group.

At the end of the Advance Registration period, ALL course requests are pooled and SRS schedules students into course sections based on a combination of the following:

- course registration controls and restrictions
- the priority rule of the course section
- the matriculation status of the student
- the student's preference for the course
- a random number assigned to each course request

This section introduces the Advance Registration process, the concept of the scheduler, and the requirements of Advance Registration.
