The system allows for only one summer term on the context line, indicated by a "B" after the year in the term field. Within this term there may be multiple summer sessions: the full 12-week session, the first 6-week session, the second 6-week session, or a "special session" with different begin and end dates (see Creating Sections in Special Sections for more information).
When setting up a course section to be offered during the summer session, you must use different section numbers for the same course being offered in both the first and second sessions. The system will not allow you to use the same section number for the same course offered in both summer sessions. The rule for the numbering of sections is:

To create a summer session section:

Establish the context by entering the COURSE SECTION and the TERM on Screen 129. |

Tab to the SESSION CODE field. If the section is offered: - In Summer Session 1, type 1. - Press Enter. - In Summer Session 2, type 2. - Press Enter - In a Special Session, type S and the session's begin and end dates. - In 12 week summer sessions, leave session code blank. |
