Some courses at the University of Pennsylvania are offered at different periods of time other than the regular term calendar. These special sessions can be set up with their own begin and end dates.

The begin and end dates of the special session course must fall within the range of "S" (Special Session) dates established by the Office of The University Registrar (SCREEN 133).

Follow these steps to create a special session section:

-	Does the new section consist of a single activity? If YES - Tab to the FUNCTION field. Type A, for Add. If NO - Refer to Creating Multi-Activity Course Sections before proceeding.
-	Tab to the SESSION CODE field. Type S, for special session.
-	Type the session start and stop dates in the blank fields next to SESSION CODE using the format MMDDYY.
-	Press Enter to update.
