Screen 130 - Scheduling Section Meeting Room

Meeting rooms for course sections will normally roll from the previous like term on the Course Term File. Authorized Operators can change the meeting room or assign meeting rooms to new course sections using Screen 130. Most classrooms are scheduled through the Office of the University Registrar although some departments own rooms that only they schedule. You can schedule course sections only into those rooms for which you have scheduling authority.

To schedule a course section meeting room:

Establish the context by entering the COURSE and TERM on Screen 130.

- For COURSE, use the 10-character course ID.

- For TERM, use the 3-character code for the term being scheduled.

- Press Enter.

Tab to FNC (function).

To request a specific room, type R

- Enter. Cursor moves to the Building Field.

Type the 4-character building code (use PF2 for possible values).

- Cursor moves to room field.

- Type the appropriate valid room number for the building you are requesting.

- Press Enter.

- If the room is available, the system will book it. If not, the system will flash a Time

Conflict message.

To schedule this section in the same room as another section as a common activity, type C

- Press Enter.

- Room will be scheduled in common for both sections.

To unpost a room assignment and leave the meeting times, type U:

Press Enter.

NOTE: To schedule a class in a new room you must first UNPOST the currently

scheduled room.

To unpost both room assignments and meeting times, type D.

Press Enter.
