In addition to the Scheduling Priority Rule established for a course section, additional restrictions or requirements may be employed by using Section Registration Controls.

Registration Controls may perform four vital functions:

Registration controls are unique to each section within its term. Although registration controls "roll" from term to term, you may change them for an upcoming term online or through the Course Term File Worksheet. You cannot establish registration controls at the Course Inventory level.

The following table describes the types of registration controls available in SRS:

Permission

-

When you require the student to have explicit permission from the instructor or department before registering for the course. There are variations that require only auditors or undergraduates to have permission.

Quotas (Reserve Seats)

-

When you want to reserve a number of seats for a certain group of students.

Quotas (Limit Seats)

-

When you want to limit the number of seats available to a certain group of students.

Co-requisite Activities (CA)

-

When you want to inform students registering for one type of activity that another is required all within the same course.

NOTE: If a course with multiple activities in the inventory file is set up correctly with one activity per section, SRS will generate this control automatically.

Co-requisite Sections (CS)

-

When you want to inform students taking one section that another specific section of another course is required.

Co-requisite Courses (CC)

-

When you want to inform students taking one course that another course is required, but it doesn't matter which section of the other course they take.
