Posting Honors for Pending Degrees
Graduation

To prepare for graduation ahead of time, authorized users may want to post their students' degree honors prior to the batch posting of graduation in the system.

For pending degrees, when awarding distinction in major, be careful to check the student's majors on Screen 111, Student Academic Term Detail, for his/her last active term. If the student has more than one major, YOU MUST ENTER THEM ALL IN THE SAME ORDER AS SCREEN 111 on Screen 123, Degrees Awarded (even if you are only posting distinction to one of them).

To post honors for a pending degrees:

-

Establish the context line by entering the SID on Screen 123.

-

Press Enter.

You may receive the message: "ID DOES NOT CURRENTLY EXIST ON RA FILE" if no degrees have been posted for this student.

-

-

Tab to the DEG column on the first blank line and type the degree code or use the PF2, on-line help key.

-

-

Tab to the MAJOR column and type the majors for the student's last active term in this academic program (from Screen 111)

NOTE: The list of majors must match exactly the list of majors shown on Screen 111 for the student's last term in this program. Otherwise, when SRS posts the actual degree, it will overwrite the majors.

-

Is the student graduating with distinction in a major? If yes, tab to the HON field (under MAJOR/HON) column for that major and type "D", for distinction.

-

Does the student meet the requirements for the Latin or other graduation honors? If yes, tab to the HONORS column for the degree and type the appropriate value or use the PF2, on-line help key.

-

Press Enter.

Result: The honors are posted to the student's transcript and academic record.
