In addition, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research:

• provides information about intramural funding opportunities for Penn:

• coordinates the selection process for grant competitions, in instances where a limited number of applications are accepted from the University.
  
  
• offers guides, assistance, and information for preparing applications for research funding;
  
  
• coordinates responses to issues like Bioterrorism which can affect research;
  
  
• works closely with the Office of Human Research; and,
  
  
• serves as the University of Pennsylvania's Research Integrity Officer.
