The Institutional
Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversees the institution's
animal care program, including the facilities and procedures,
to ensure that they are consistent with the recommendations of
the Animal Welfare Regulations, the Public Health Service Policy
and the Guide
for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
University Laboratory Animal
Resources (ULAR) is responsible for the procurement, care,
and use of all University-owned animals used for teaching, research,
and testing as approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use
Committee (IACUC) and as mandated by federal law and regulations.
