Student Telephone Services at the University of Pennsylvania provides basic telephone services to students living on campus. Service is shared by all students in a single dorm room and is required for easy access to Penn's 511 emergency call service. (511 connects directly to Penn's local police station for the fastest possible response and is available from any campus phone.)

The 2009-10 school year's service includes free Philadelphia local and metropolitan calls, caller id, call waiting, call transfer, three-way calling, and 511 emergency service calls. (Domestic long distance and international calls do incur a usage charge.) In addition, a phone set will be provided in each suite to allow for quick access to local telephone service.
