Rates & Billing
The University contracts with a variety of local and long distance vendors to provide competitive rates for student customers. These companies bill the University for calls made, and these costs are then passed on to students via Student Financial Services. You may at times be solicited by various service providers or see telephone service items on the Internet that may appear attractive. Please do not participate in these offerings as in many cases, these services are very costly and are often misleading.
New this year is once-a-semester billing for our basic phone service (rather than a monthly charge). An individualized monthly statement will still be issued to students online thru PennInTouch with itemized listings for all domestic and international long distance calls made by a student (based on PAC number usage) as well as optional features being used (such as voicemail).
Please note: Service for the summer months (June - August) will be billed at a rate of $8.00 per month.
Remember: Your Student Telephone Services statement is a detailed outline of charges, it is NOT a bill. All phone charges are passed directly to Student Financial Services accounts. Payments should be made to a student bill and submitted to Student Financial Services. Payments presented to Student Telephone Services will be returned.
Billing of items to your room telephone number exchanges such as membership fees for voicemail messaging, psychic lines, credit card usage and various memberships to Cyberlink services and other marketing items is prohibited.

- Local and metropolitan calls (all calls in 215 and 267 area codes, and any calls to 484 and 610 area codes that do not prompt you for your PAC code)

$5/month covers all voicemail features. The service:
- Holds up to 15 messages
- Stores messages up to 2 minutes in length
