Compost Tea

Penn treats the campus soil, grass, and plants with compost tea -- an organic alternative to chemical fertilizers

Green Fund Projects

Green Cleaning Initiative

This project was awarded a Green Fund grant to enhance Housekeeping's green cleaning efforts, specifically the purchase of 20 Orbio Battery Operated Totes and 4 Adfinity X20R Rev machines.  With the Orbio, tap water is processed to a higher alkalinity, thereby making it an effective cleaning agent. This technology has been used primarly in Athletics and Recreation with positive feedback. This project also supports the purchase of four floor machines that can strip any floor with only a water base, deleting the need for chemical floor cleaners. These machines service the entire campus.
