The Greening of the Castle Fraternity

OFFICE OF FRATERNITY AND SORORITY AFFAIRS

The Greening of the Castle Fraternity is a multifaceted project that reduced energy consumption and overall greenhouse gas emissions at the Castle Fraternity building while educating the Greek and Penn communities about residential sustainability. The project included efforts to reduce heating and cooling loss and shift to energy efficient lighting throughout the building.  The project also incorporated the development of a series of sustainability talks held at the Fraternity to encourage sharing of best practices among successful Green Fund project leaders and an open opportunity for any member of the Penn community interested in submitting a Green Fund Grant proposal.
