Penn Athletics Move Towards Zero-Waste Events

November 15, 2013

The Penn Athletics Eco-Reps are excited to announce the first Zero-Waste Awareness basketball game for the 2013-2014 season. The Awareness Game will occur during the Penn vs. Penn State match-up this Saturday, November 11, at 2pm in the Palestra. Athletics Eco-Reps and the Athletics Green Team will be engaging with fans, educating attendees on proper recycling practices, and collecting recyclable items in the stands. This Awareness game will be the first in a series of games leading up to the actual Zero-Waste Basketball Game, which is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2014, at the Penn vs. Harvard match-up. All of these events are part of a larger effort to bring increased sustainability into sports and recreation on Penn's campus.

Penn’s Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine was the first health facility to achieve LEED certification in Philadelphia and in the entire Delaware Valley.
