Penn Eco-Reps is a student environmental leadership program that promotes sustainable lifestyles across Penn’s communities. Representatives support the University’s Climate Action Plan through peer education, projects, and outreach events. Eco-Reps strive to be constant models of environmental consciousness and challenge their peers to adopt a culture of sustainability.
Select students, faculty, and staff work within their respective College Houses, Greek chapters, Athletics Teams, departments, and offices to develop educational events, activities, and campaigns aimed at supporting the University’s environmental goals and Climate Action Plan. Initiatives include energy conservation, waste and recycling practices, water conservation strategies, alternative transportation, consumer choices, and more.
Eco-Reps interact with other environmental leaders on campus, and work to develop programs and events that challenge their peers to adopt more sustainable behaviors.
The Eco-Reps program is organized by sustainability staff in Facilities and Real Estate Services and is an initiative of the Penn Green Campus Partnership, an umbrella group of students, faculty, staff, and community members that promotes sustainable practices and policies on campus.
