We try our best to keep Penn Transit safe and convenient for everyone. To this end, we ask that you keep in
mind your rights and responsibilities when you get a ride with Penn Transit.
Rider Rights
- A courteous and competent driver
- A secure and timely ride
- A clean, well-functioning, and safe vehicle
- To be safe and secure within the vehicle before the vehicle starts moving
- To have current route and schedule information available
- To be picked up and dropped off at designated locations within service boundaries
- A simple, timely and responsive process for filing an idea or suggestion by calling the Penn Transit supervisor on
duty at 215-898-RIDE, or by leaving a message on 215-898-IDEA or on Business Services' Idea Web
Rider Responsibilities
- For safety reasons all riders must show their valid PennCard to the driver upon entering the vehicle. Drivers may refuse entry to any person not showing a valid PennCard.
- Each driver has the right to deny service to any disruptive person. Penn Police will provide assistance when required.
- Those riders whose PennCards have been lost, stolen, or forgotten will need to call 215-898-RIDE before boarding a vehicle to obtain permission to use the system
- Baggage brought onto any Penn Transit vehicle must fit on the rider's lap. This includes shopping bags.
- Valid PennCard holders may be accompanied by up to 2 guests provided they ride with the PennCard holder
