PennSound Summer 2014 Internship
PennSound is the world’s largest archive of sound recordings of poets reading their own poems. There have been 24 million downloads of PennSound mp3 files since the project’s inception in 2004. The PennSound Summer Internship program features direct experience in digital archiving. The interns will learn to convert from various sound and video media, upload and download to Penn’s media server, listen to newly acquired historical readings by famous and avant-garde poets and help evaluate the contents, and work with various staff and faculty in the Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing on the arrangement and expansion of the PennSound archive. This is the perfect hands-on experience for someone interested in the connection between digital media and arts management.
