SRS assigns career codes to students based on the default career established for their approved academic programs. In the cases listed below, you must assert the correct career code, to keep the student's coursework on the proper transcript(s).

Students taking courses through the College of General Studies often may need to have their academic programs adjusted to reflect the correct career.

Example:

A student who began work at Penn in a pre-baccalaureate program may later matriculate into a degree program. If all the student's work should

print on the undergraduate transcript, you must override the pre-baccalaureate career code with "U", for undergraduate.

When you override a career code, you are determining which transcripts work in an academic program is assigned.

The following table lists the possible career overrides and when you can use them:

Establish the context by entering the SID on Screen 110.

Tab to the SEQ number at the left of the program that you want to change.

Press Enter.

Tab to the CAREER field and type the appropriate value or use the PF2 on-line help key.
