Third Annual Dean’s Forum on Teaching and Learning

Problem-Based Learning: Simulations and Applications will be the topic of the third annual SAS Dean’s Forum on Teaching and Learning. The Forum will take place on Wednesday, April 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. in 401 Fisher-Bennett Hall. Presenters will include Ira Harkavy and Frank Johnston of the Center for Community Partnerships, leading a panel on the learning opportunities available through problem-based and problem-solving learning. Also on the program are Christine Massey, director of PENNlincs, who will define the terms related to problem-based learning, and Larry Robbins, director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, who will demonstrate the use of the case method in the humanities and beyond. The case to be presented is not only about strategies for teaching but also about dealing with the problem of potential racism in the classroom. Attendees are encouraged to attend any or all of the sessions.

For more information, email or call Larry Robbins: robbinsl@sas.upenn.edu, (215) 898-1686.
