Penn Compact

At my inaugural address in October 2004 I introduced the Penn Compact, my vision for advancing the University of Pennsylvania "From Excellence to Eminence" in all our core endeavors of teaching, research, and service.

The Penn community has taken up my charge with energy and an inspired sense of shared purpose. Together we are finding innovative and creative ways to embrace the Compact's driving principles—increasing access, integrating knowledge, and engaging locally and globally.
